Fire protection in the Township is provided by a fire station, 3 fire vehicles and 22 volunteers. The Township enjoys the added protection of an Automatic Aid Fire Protection Agreement with the Town of Renfrew, Greater Madawaska Township and Whitewater Region Township. The Fire Department also provides First Response to the Township of North Algona Wilberforce. The Fire Department provides service for 2,800 residents.

Smoke Alarms – It’s the Law:
Under the Ontario Fire Code, “Every Home in Ontario must have a working smoke alarm on every storey and outside all sleeping areas.”

Permits are available:
- Fillable Form – 2026 Fillable Fire Permit – please fill in and return to info@admastonbromley.com (Please note: Please allow 24 hours for permit to be processed and returned)
- From the Municipal Office at 477 Stone Rd.

FIREWORKS BYLAW
The Township has passed By-Law 2024-23, being a By-law regulating setting off of fireworks.

The Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC) is pleased to once again partner with Kidde Canada in support of this important initiative. As part of this year’s campaign, Kidde has generously donated over 1,900 of their new DETECT smoke alarms featuring cutting edge technology and a worry-free, 10-year lithium battery. Douglas Fire Department was selected as one of 17 Ontario fire departments to share these alarms. Our department be received 72 free smoke alarms.
