Regular Testing of the Alert Ready System

Ontario was scheduled to participate in the testing of the Alert Ready emergency alerting system on May 6, 2026 at 12:55 p.m. EDT. The date and time of the test would have coincided with the funeral proceedings for OPP Sergeant Brandon Malcolm. Out of respect to Sergeant Malcolm, his family and friends, the Ministry will postpone the Alert Ready testing to May 7, 2026 at 1:55 p.m. EDT.

There will be no other changes to the system test. The test alert will still be issued to all TVs, radios, and compatible wireless devices within Ontario on May 7, 2026.
