Ontario’s recycling system is undergoing a significant province-wide change that will affect how we handle our recycling.\n\n\n\n Who is in Charge Now? The old system (run by your municipality) is switching to a Producer Responsibility Model.\n\n\n\nWhat does that mean? Producers (the companies that make the products) will now be responsible for funding and operating Blue Box services across the entire province.\n\n\n\n The New Manager: Circular Materials Ontario is taking over the management of the residential recycling program. They are a national not-for-profit organization building efficient and effective recycling systems where materials are collected\, recycled\, and returned back to producers to use as recycled content in new packaging and products.\n\n\n\nImportant Note for Businesses/Organizations (IC&I) ️\nThis new model does not include Industrial\, Commercial\, or Institutional properties (like businesses\, schools\, and offices).
